What software do I use?

July 3, 2007 · Leave a Comment

If you are a regular reader of Digg, you know that everyone and their brother post “Top 10 [insert category here]” lists. Even though many of the Digg Top 10 lists are redundant, I always find some new apps to try. Some are very useful, others I have only used once or twice. So I compiled my lists of apps using a couple of applications. The image below was created with Todos.

Although Todos looks cool, it is not very useful. There are a couple of applications that show actual usage of your applications.

Slife is…

the new activity browser for the Mac OS X that lets you visualize your computer activities and share slices of your digital life with your friends, such as web sites you visit, videos you watch and much more.

Wakoopa

tracks what kind of software or games you use, and lets you create your own software profile. Ready for you to share with the world. Why? Because what you use on your desktop is who you are!

Both Slife and Wakoopa offer online versions to share your application usage. I currently have a Wakoopa share setup at http://wakoopa.com/mradomski. Wakoopa also allows you to embed your top ten list and has a Facebook module. I am still investigating Slife’s functionality for sharing. DO NOT show this to your Boss!

And when you are done with the applications, you can use AppZapper or AppDelete to safely remove the useless app.

More to come about the apps I use every day…
